On 15 September, we attended the National BGM Conference organised by Health Promotion Switzerland at the Kursaal Bern. Under the title «Healthy Teams – How Collaboration Succeeds», experts from science, practice and business came together. For us as a young platform, it was an ideal opportunity to listen, exchange ideas and make new contacts.
Health Is a Team Effort
The programme covered a wide range: from the myths, facts and effective levers for healthy teams, through «collaboration in flow», to lessons from NASA on how teams achieve the extraordinary, and the question of how community can succeed in an age of fragmentation. The workshops dealt with psychological safety, leading without hierarchies, team resilience, conflict management, hybrid collaboration and even AI as a new team member.
Why Healthy Teams Matter So Much for Mental Health
A team is more than a working group. It is a place where we feel we belong, receive support and can talk openly about strain. Where trust and psychological safety prevail, it is easier to absorb pressure and tackle challenges together. Healthy teams are therefore not only a benefit for collaboration, but a key protective factor for the mental health of every individual.
What We Contribute With DESKAPE
This is where our monthly 30-day movement challenges come in. What makes them special: teams are put together by shuffle. Colleagues from different departments, locations and hierarchy levels, who might never meet in everyday working life, come together. Silos and boundaries are broken down, new connections emerge, and exercise becomes a shared experience, with no prior knowledge and no barriers.
The challenges are complemented by our Health-Videos: short videos that convey knowledge on various health topics, for example nutrition, produced together with specialist partners from the healthcare sector. This creates a shared understanding of health that can grow within the team.
A heartfelt thank you to Health Promotion Switzerland and the entire organising team for a successful conference.
